I can't understand parents.

They asked me to check my dad's email whether he received that much awaited document his former employer should be giving him. I checked it since I know its account information (which I shouldn't be doing since it is not my email), and after I opened it, no new mail, as expected. They were talking of how that paper could be sent to us without the party spending too much. All I had in mind is why does this employer of his have to send a document of high importance through email? Shouldn't it be sent through mail? I mean, there're speed-mail services right?

My mom started blabbering about how the paper should be sent here through email -- she's worrying about things like an unsigned document, the sender doesn't have a scanner and all the sort of crap. I said the possible things the other party can do -- sign it first, then scan, then ask someone to send it for them. She then insisted that the 'middleman' doesn't have a scanner and I countered her with 'let them take care of it, I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing'. but she still blabbered like she knew everything about computers, when in fact she doesn't want to learn, and me, getting irritated, started to raise my voice, explaining things in the simplest way I can. Then out of nowhere, my mom labeled me an ingrate and a disrespectful bastard! Where the hell did that came from?! I know, I kind of pushed the limit when I started raising my voice but I really don't think I was being disrespectful when I tried to explain things they do not know. I feel like I don't have the right to be fucking irritated. She then knocked my nape and started blabbering that I was being disrespectful. Hell, my dad even joined in, and now there's two of them ticking me off.

Are parents really so proud that they won't admit they don't know everything, can't control everything and won't be able to do everything?! I was raised to become an obedient child but trying-hard-know-it-alls really kills the hell out of me! When I reason out to them, I was always branded as a disrespectful young man and that they didn't raise me to be such. When I talk, I am always labeled as wrong and my suggestions would do any good because they know the hell they're doing. I've been like this since I was a teenager -- I reason out to them, but they weren't accepted. I try to talk in a civilized manner then they crap me out with nonsense. It's getting in my friggin' fuckin' nerves!! I'm not really an 'obedient' child -- I do things my way, which is why I get always get nagged, but I know, I've done the right thing.

I really have a problem with authority.

Since nobody listens to me, I'm doing my best to shut my mouth up. When they ask for suggestions, I leave the decision to them and tell them that I'll be watching. When they nag, I keep my cool and don't talk. When they preach, I store up everything inside. I dunno but since I did that, we haven't have a decent talk for years. It's like wake-up-leave-arrive-sleep for us (especially my dad) and I feel we're used to it. not that I hate it, I actually like it. However, if they meddle with my affairs, they're gonna get it from me. I remember a time when I had a heated talk and a near-fight with my dad because he saw me drawing. He was crapping out shit like if I am an architecture student I should be drawing buildings and not people and drawing will get me fucking nowhere. I stood up and gave him a rebellious look and when he was about to hit me, my mom stopped us. Tough luck. He knows that he can't control me like my siblings so he's frustrated that he can't get the better off me. He knows that I'm his counterforce, he juz wouldn't admit it.
